SUMMARY: The Print Marketing Specialist will be responsible for buying, coordinating, and tracking a variety of direct marketing milestones and campaigns for print catalogs, smaller mail pieces and other marketing print collateral.
Works with the Integrated Marketing Manager, Creative Traffic Coordinator, VP of Marketing, Marketing Analyst and creative teams to ensure the timely execution of direct marketing pieces and other marketing collateral (catalogs, price books, gatefolds, postcards, package stuffers, bounce-back coupons, greeting cards, invitations, infographics, trade show signage, etc.)
Handles print vendor management. Negotiates all print buying for the department. Holds vendor bid sessions or submits RFPs to multiple appropriate vendors and awards jobs. Ensures all print production is placed with the best vendors for the best prices.
Creates detailed print instructions for every job.
Tracks print and prepress estimates through production and budgeting. Codes all invoices; ensures postage checks or wire transfers are cleared accurately through accounting.
Owns catalog production timeline, and ensures deadlines are understood and met by teams upstream.
Provides strategy (for signoff) to marketing leadership and enters print creative requests
Coordinates with Merchandising on product selections for smaller print pieces
Integrates with other channel owners to ensure synergy of messaging.
Works with the Marketing Analyst on day-to-day aspects of the Direct Marketing program including leveraging the Marketing Database (MDB) and Project Management Tools for list selection, print buying, budgeting, reporting, optimization and vendor management.
Works with internal and external fulfillment partners to ensure catalog requests are processed, and inventory is maintained
Updates the Circulation Plan with pertinent costs as they arise
Manages Outbound Package Coupon Program
Reports on couponing activity and other simple response analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant coursework
2+ years of experience executing high-impact, direct-response marketing campaigns, reporting and admin management.
Experience in print process and print lifecycle management. Experience interfacing with printers and marketing service providers using a triple-bid process.
Understanding of print creative development and timelines.
Exceptionally detail oriented; has a sense of ownership with a commitment to continual improvement.
Strong time management skills
Flexible problem solver, who expects last minute changes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong creative insight and brand experience
Strong Microsoft office proficiency (Excel, Word, etc.)
General Photoshop, InDesign skills are a plus
