Marketing Analyst

Summary:

The role of the Marketing Analyst is to provide analytic leadership and to identify business and resource optimization opportunities for several in-market and pipeline Marketing initiatives. Successful candidates will be able to thrive in a dynamic environment, and have a proven ability to effectively communicate. Marketing database upkeep, and storytelling through visual analytics are also important facets of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

● Marketing Database:

o Leverage the Marketing Database (MDB) and analytics tools (Tableau, Google Analytics) to garner actionable customer and market insights.

o Leverage dashboards regularly to share global sales results and highlight opportunities o Work with IT to steward MDB into broader data structure.

o Serve as the Marketing department’s liaison with external data consolidation services and to ensure accuracy

o Execute adhoc queries and analysis for key business stakeholders.

● Customer Database Analysis (CDA)

o Own the CDA (Customer Database Analysis) and report out on key customer segments and YOY comparable segments (loyal repeat customers, new accounts / new acquisition, and reactivated customers) and their migrations among segments. Gain a deep understanding of all customer segments to influence business development strategy.

o Partner with database vendor for new customer segmentation and identify opportunities. o Partner with database vendor for bottom-up forecasting (CDA and modeling)

● Direct Mail Segmentation & Performance

o Manage circulation plan spreadsheet for reporting and comparison, circulation budget tracking, match-back analysis, revenue projections, cost/break even analysis. This includes an annual deep dive on segment performance.

o Prepare post-analysis decks which are then presented to top executives.

o Work with the marketing leadership and others to set strategic targets and goals for direct mail programs, ecommerce activities, sales initiatives and more.

● Cross Channel Measurement

o Understand each channel’s current response reporting, ROI estimates and analysis, customer database KPI’s including monthly reports, marketing goal tracking, and campaign performance. o Identify cross-channel measurement to build integrated measurement (future state) o Work with internal channel owners to understand better reporting of acquisition strategies

Requirements/Skills:

● Bachelor’s degree in quantitative marketing, math, finance, statistics or related field. ● 5+ years of experience in analysis of sales and marketing information; previous experience in working with a marketing database; including use of this information in the development of business plans and strategies.

● Proven ability to analyze and synthesize large datasets to deliver strategic recommendations ● Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders and senior management.

● Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving

● Exceptionally organized, “buttoned up” and detail oriented; has a sense of ownership ● Ability to work independently on multiple projects while keeping stakeholders informed of progress and findings

● Effective communicator making complex findings simple to understand for all levels of the organization. ● Experienced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau (or other visual analytic tools) ● SQL is a plus (ability to read/understand existing queries but will not be asked to write queries)
