Job Description: Accounting Internship: Summer 2023

 

Our Weissman Summer Internship is a 10 week program based in our St. Louis office. Participants of our intern program will gain valuable hands-on experience to include, but not limited to, industry training, cross-functional departmental exposure, and a final project presentation at the end of the summer.

 

Dates:  May 30th, 2023 - August 4th, 2023    (10 Weeks, Paid Internship)

Position Summary:  A Weissman Intern is responsible for providing administrative assistance and organizational support to the corresponding department. Interns are assigned a mentor within the department to collaborate with throughout the program.  Interns have a primary focus on completing a project with partners from cross-functional teams. At the end of the summer, the final project will be presented to the leadership team. 

 

Accounting Intern Responsibilities:

Audit Support:   Work closely with applicable team members to provide documents and schedules to meet auditor requests. 

Sales Tax Reporting:   Research state sales tax reporting requirements. Compile and analyze data to support business registrations and sales tax return filings.

Fixed Asset Data:    Transfer fixed asset data into Lawson M3 systems. Enter and review fixed asset data for accuracy and completeness for accounting systems and tax schedules.

Metrics Data:  Develop dashboards and/or templates and compile data to support finance team operational process metrics reporting.

Contract Document Management:  Develop summary tracking template to record contract data.  Review existing contracts to document key information including parties to contract, scope covered, expiration date, etc. Work with internal partners to secure current version of contracts, as needed.
